This week I took a look at Maze by Christopher Manson. While not an RPG product per se, it’s a fascinating look at what can be done with a game book. In this case, create a labyrinthine structure you can freely roam around in, packed with strange puzzles and objects to decipher. It originally had a $10,000 reward for whoever could solve its three mysteries, but in the end people were only able to solve one of them before the contest ended. It’s now out of print and hard to find, but all of the pages and spoilers for the the puzzles are available online.
People continue to send me strange RPG products I’ve never heard of before, and opening them is always a delight. Join me after the paywall for a video where I crack the packages open to see what’s inside. Highlights include an IKEA-themed ruleset, a huge Mesopotamian adventure set in the Tower of Babel, a gorgeous packet of cyberpunk one-shot adventures, a surprise Merry Mushmen product, and lots more.
